Why is Forklift Safety training important?

Every day millions of workers in the United States make a career out of operating a forklift. And each year over 100,000 forklift accidents are reported. Think about this fact: There are an estimated 1 Million forklifts in the U.S., which means that just over 1 of every 10 (or 11%) of all forklifts in the country will be involved in an accident annually. This course has been designed to help ensure safe practices while operating a forklift.

Please note that OSHA requires that every forklift operator be trained and certified to operate the powered industrial truck in the workplace, and that the operator’s performance be evaluated on the provisions of 1910.178(l)(3) every three years.
